TroyScherer- You bring up a good point there, many "sealants" look more "wax-like" than some "waxes".

It certainly can be! Messing up the underlying product can move you back a few processes right when you thought you were almost finished!

I`m always skeptical/cynical about the "24 hours" standard, just sounds like a BS-that-sounds-good type of answer, but I still usually do that anyhow Or at least, I figure it`s likely to be an acceptable minimum (though KSG doesn`t need that long IME).

The 24 hour thing was made up by an old guy like me so our arms rest up before the next process.

Or an old guy like *me* who wanted an excuse to quit detailing for the day

But OTOH, Ron K. is older than I am, and he says I could layer FK1000P much quicker if I did it right. Well, his version of "right"...which may very well be better than what I`m doing/gonna do.

Me too Troy. And to the contrary, insofar as depth, I see an improvement by using something like Pete`s 53, Lusso Oro, Blue Velvet, or P21S over top of sealant (after proper cure time).

I never tried topping BFAFPP with wax, but BF claimed it`d be OK and IIRC that`s part of their current Full System.
At the end of December, I applied BF`s Gloss Enhancing Polish(GEP) to the wife`s Kia (just the rear so far). I followed that up with BFAFPP. After the wipe off, I let it sit for close to 24 hrs, give or take. I then went over it with BF`s Midnight Sun (BFMS) paste wax.

I plan on doing the same to the rest of the car. Eventually.

After reading Accumulator`s post, I wondered if I could do a test on the hood. The whole thing covered in BFAFPP, and only do half with the BFMS. Not sure that would really work in my case, as I plan to maintain it with BF rinseless and BF Waterless washes. Those two products surely will leave stuff behind.

If you weren`t already planning to, I`d give the no-wax side another coat of BFAFPP so the Start Times are somewhat equalized.

I`ll see what I end up doing. But good idea, though.

We all know Ron has a different LSP under every finger. He is the King, after all.

    Waste not, want not
But waste wax for wantoness of more shine

I`m a chilled spray and gloss guy myself
    Solvents beware, haha

Eh, my bad for not differentiating between my Rons

I meant a different Ron- Ron Ketcham/Ketch/Grumpy, ex of FK and AI/VG and the most inside-the car industry guy I`ll ever know. Currently MIA here but he emails me now and then and I respect him something fierce even though we don`t always see eye-to-eye on everything.

And yeah....I to find 845 to be along the lines of "bright"/"reflective" LSPs like P21s/M16, though appearance diffs, say... between 845 and 476S usually (always?) seem to diminish with time/washing. Still, absolutely *NOT* the look I want on something like the Jag.

Ahh.. I`ve seen people summon him for input on Facebook detailing groups.
