I have usually just done one coat. But a second application helps to make sure you get full coverage.

Applying multiple layers doesn’t actually “build thickness” of the sealant.

Does putting on a layer of Collinite 845, add anything or will it affect the sealant negatively?

2 coats are best. Assures complete coverage.

Colly after sealant has cured if you wish to add it.

BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Carnauba Paste Wax looks pretty nice layered over their sealant. (wet ice over fire)

    ^ I agree with Ron.

I have found Colli 845 almost if not as durable as many sealants out there.

I was told the solvents in the Collinite will just remove the Blackfire.

There is no real conclusive evidence one way or another if the solvents will fully remove the product below if you give it proper cure time that I am aware of. But the basic agreed belief is that if you let your sealant fully cure then it should be durable enough to handle the application of another product. (Sealant / Wax) But it is also said that the solvent does "soften" the product below slightly which is why you can really build multiple layers of products.

May or may not be the same, I know fusso coat. If you left it on to long and are having a hard time getting it offf. Wipe on a new layer, it softens the old. Then you can wipe the old excess right off. I would think that means it doesn`t layer well. I`m thinking the collinite is the same way on its self. That said, just because the solvents will soften its self doesn`t necessarily mean it would soften or remove a different product.

I have used Wolfgang 3.0 or a couple of years and after letting it cure for about 24 hours I top it with 845. I haven`t noticed any problem with this combination to date. Results look good to me, although not near as good as Brandt and his PA treatment. LOL

IMO people interested in layering should just apply the proper controls and test the proposed process for themselves. Easy enough to know what does/doesn`t work *for you* and then you can ignore all the Internet Experts Who Know Best

Sounds like a great product from what I`ve read. Too bad BF doesn`t offer small sample to try on my Sapphire Blue Macan like this one.

Does this mean that, in your opinion, people with less than 80,000 post can not participate in a discussion because they are not "internet experts"? Can you please give me a list of "who knows best" so I can pay particular attention to their posts and opinions? I`m sorry if you feel I ignored you, I didn`t see any post from you regarding this subject. I agree with your first sentence, IMHO the second sentence is a smart ass comment that doesn`t add anything to the discussion.
    Jay
