Mary B.
Having a step platform that is about 18-24" tall makes it MUCH easier to reach the tops/roofs of any truck/SUV/Wagon/Van (OK, taller vehicle, other than a school bus or semi tractor).
Two things you need to be aware of IF you do buy and use one:
1) ALWAYS use the locking leg/step latches if they are foldable
2) It might be wise to install/apply some type of anti-skid/anti-slip tape to the platform itself, like that tape or appliques you find on skate boards, especially when you have wet, soapy shoes or sneakers when washing a taller vehicle.
Great tips !
The last thing I would do and have done on my platform is to install some type of foam all along the entire side that faces the vehicle, so there is no opportunity to accidentally scratch the vehicle if it gets too close..
Or, it can be a long, thick towel that goes over the edge of the ramp so there is no metal to metal contact with the vehicle when you are on it..

Thanks for the Tips that I know I will use.
I have a small platform that I use, but I was kicking the side of the vehicle when I would step up. The foam may help with that. Plus protect the paint.
Never thought of slipping on the platform. You saved me from finding out the hard way. (and I know I would have .
Rupes 21 has taken the lead, go with the best.

Mary how about using micro fiber pads on the 15mm to speed up the job?

Compared to what? Watts is a measurement of power consumed, not power produced..
I would recommend staying with the brand that designed these tools, innovated the solutions for these tools, and manufacturers these tools by pay workers fair wages. BigFoot Polishers are manufactured or assembled in the Italy or the USA (depending on where you live), offer full factory-backed warranty support, a full customer service team, etc.
I do enjoy when I meet a detailer (or see one online) who is complaining about how there is another company offering the same services for less money down the street - in a sense copying them... and while they complain they proudly hold a copycat, cheap version of the original polisher.

Well that is one more vote for Rupes 21!
Watts -- power produce om a polisher. Could someone explain this to an enthusiast ?
THANK YOU !!!!
This says 900w, so it`s going to consume more power not be more powerful?? I think??
225$ gotta decide by Friday night.
Rupes is the best .
This is tough!!
I can`t contribute to a discussion of 21mm long-throws, but the above is about as significant as anything we`ll ever discuss here.
(I use five old, apparently no longer available , Bauer/Warner work platforms, which are much larger than any of the others that get mentioned and have a high-friction top surface. )
Sorry, back to the (real) topic at hand....

Hello Mary
I purchased the TORQ 22D on black friday, only had the chance to use it once, and i will say for my usage ( hobby ) it checks all the boxes.
Cost effective, plenty of performance for a long throw, pretty smooth, and i actually dont mind the digital speed buttons.
Let us know what you get and how you like it.
I can`t speak for the OP but myself personally, cannot justify the cost of a polisher or machine that is significantly higher priced that I do not use that often. I`m not a production detailer or a professional however I`ll do a full correction 1-2x a year on my personal DD.

With the polishers you do have I think you would be disappointed in the performance of the 22D. It may be rated at 900 watts but it does not have the power of the 21MKII. It stalls much easier than my MKII even tho part of that my be the fact I have never used my Rupes with the stock BP just the Beast. Civicclutch has also used my 22D before he got his Rupes and could also give his opinion.
