    TAC Systems Moonlight

    A 25% Si Oil-based SiO2 sealant/coating...stand alone or topper.

I`m intrigued (although that don`t take much...ooooh...shiny things!!!)

Aware of the TAC/Carpro/Gyeon talk, don`t hear much else about it aside from occasional Quartz Max.

Watched most of it...looks kinda thick as far as consistency goes. Gyeon Can Coat-ish, perhaps? Maybe the hood of a work van would be an excellent test panel...cuz it`s small.

YouTube has some water behavior vids...

I was going to buy some and try. I talked to the guy a week or two ago, but it won`t be for a couple of weeks.

Between my father, move and kid graduation........ Time is something I don`t have right now.

I saw this stuff on the Detailing World forum. It`s interesting, but I`m more interested in their coatings. You can buy a "pro only" coating from them without all the bs although it is quite expensive. I wish someone would carry their products here in the US. Their website is not very informative.

    Ah...the $388 `Quartz Climax`...website indicates authorized TAC installer though.

I saw mention that detailing dot com carried their stuff at one time but I guess no more although Xmdsupplies lists TAC coatings in their store.

They really should get someone`s kid to redo their website.

Today it is so easy to build a professional looking website they do their products a real disservice. If you contact them you can buy their pro only coating. I don`t think they quite have their act together in the US yet. You can find much more info on the Detailers World forum.

    Re: TAC Systems Moonlight

Well, what the heck. Ordered the Moonlight this morning so we`ll see how it goes. Gonna try it on a prepped, un-coated hood of a vehicle and then I guess I could also prep/coat the hood of another vehicle with some leftovers and add it to that, choices being:

    Gloss Shop Ceramic
    McKees Paint Coating
    Cquartz (not UK)
    22ple HPC
    Gtechniq CSL
    Pearl Nano

    Dunno which one to choose...

This should be interesting. I don`t think there is another product like this on the market. From what I understand it is oily. Looking forward to a review.

    Re: TAC Systems Moonlight

    Hmm...is it a maintenance product or a `coating lite` type deal?

    From TAC website:
Moonlight is an oil-based coating maintenance containing 20 to 25% of SiO2 coatings. It offers excellence water repellency qualities, high durability and enhances the gloss of the surface. Moonlight does not only refresh vehicle that has been treated with body coatings, Moonlight can also be applied as a standalone product which too would increase the gloss and hydrphobic properties of the vehicle` surface.
Moonlight can lasts up to 9 months.
Below screenshot snippet from a US distributor/user in response to inquiry as to usage as coating maintenance product.

Well, guess I`ll find out cuz gonna use it on freshly polished^prepped hood as well as CSL coated hood.

that logic doesn`t add up...why would they tell you to remove a coating before applying a product they advertise as a coating maintenance product?

I would question their credibility (whoever said that)

    Re: TAC Systems Moonlight

Maybe they`re talking about it being a stand alone LSP vs a topper? Like Reload could be used as a sealant LSP.
