    Looking for new Chrome polish

I`ve run out to 3m Chrome & Metal polish and can`t seem to find anyone up here selling it anymore.
I`ve got liquids (HD Metal, Adams 1&2 and a few others) paste (Autosol, flitz, megs heavy & medium cut and regular, wolfgang, etc) but mostly these are sort of geared more towards aluminum rather than chrome. The 3M worked excellent but I can`t find it (Ontario)

Anyway, maybe time for something new. What`s on your shelf?

I`ve heard good things, but the three suppliers I deal with that carry poorboys, none carry the chrome polish. Probably banned in Canada or something

I know it`s a first world problem but when it comes to detailing, sometimes it feels like a armour-all and turtlewax landscape

Are you using a DA or Rotary? Or just polishing by hand? With a DA & Rotary HD Metal is about the best I`ve used. On classic cars I will polish over all of the chrome bumpers and anodized aluminum trim and will leave it on for the entirety of the detailing process. If possible, I`ll even leave it on over night. It`s the only product I`ve ever used that produces more shine and is easier to remove than HD Speed. It`s truly is the HD Speed of metal Polishes

Normally I`d do my bumpers by hand, too small and too many corners That said I`ve been half looking for a 3" short throw (8mm type thing) DA (I`ve got a 3" pad on the PC but it`s kind of cumbersome) so maybe that`s a good excuse to go ahead and buy one sooner.

I would not use a machine on chrome unless it`s on its way out and pitted ... it`s only a very thin film of plating

Eshine (where I get probably 75% of my stuff) doesn`t list it and unfortunately Carzilla is at the other end of the country (Calgary) Maybe I need to buy enough to help knock the shipping cost down.

Re: Looking for new Chrome polish

I respectfully disagree. While it`s extremely important to use the least aggressive method possible, using a PC7424xp paired with a gentle cleaner wax like HD speed and a 4 inch black buff and shine finishing pad with no pressure isn`t only a more efficient method of cleaning/brightening chrome, it`s extremely safe and effective. Honestly, the fact that the plating is so thin is even more reason to utilize a machine so you can achieve a consistent result that would be difficult if not impossible to mimic with hands and fingers.

Eshine does have it but did not list it...

I think it might be an oversight

    Thanks
Email sent (cart already has some blackhole and bird &#* remover in it waiting for Natty Black to be back in stock.
Also asked about the new enzyme odor spray JIC they have it as well, wouldn`t be a bad thing to have on the shelf (and cheaper (smaller container at least) than the megs I use now.)

Re: Looking for new Chrome polish

Chrome`s a funny thing IME...it`s *HARD* stuff, but sometimes it wears quickly and easily. I`ve *never* used anything as abrasive as a Metal Polish on the (18K mile) Jag`s door handles, but their edges are worn through to the underlying layers. FWIW, I certainly do that car`s chrome by hand, no way I`m gonna do X-number of orbits/rotations at a time (compared to individual strokes) with a pad/plate/machine between my fingertips and the plating (compared to a thin cloth).

Being a (reallly) old timer, I still use Simichrome on the rare occasions I need a chrome/aluminum/metal polish anymore. Never found anything better - kind of like an unblended scotch.
