    Off gassing of Detail chemicals

I have some questions about all the different chemicals I have stored in a spare room.
Several bottles, some open, some in sprayers.
The room has a strong chemical smell that is getting stronger,
It`s like walking into a cloud you can`t see.

My questions are, If I start storing everything in buckets, with Gamma lids so they are air tight.
Are the VOC`s going to build up and I will have created a dangerous situation ?

Is this a problem for anyone else ?
I only have the room for storage, can`t store in garage stalls.

I need some experienced help on this

Can you store the open containers in zip lock bags then place in gamma seal buckets?

Maybe it`s only one or two bottles that are causing the smell? Do you store any iron remover/wheel cleaner in there? All my stuff is in my closet in milk crates and with the doors closed doesn`t have a chemical smell.....if there was, my wife would smell it.

Mary check your iron removers they smell like rotten eggs(sulfur)that is the most common culprit when detailing supplies are stored indoors and someone is concerned.

There is a big closet. Will start to shift things over.

Yes I do have a small collection. I`m going to HD to find something, maybe sealed tubs ?

Makes my throat soar, cough as well, gotta fix this.

Yeah, if it`s making you feel this way this task needs to rise to the top of the To Do list. No telling how it`s affecting you perhaps even long term. I`d also suspect it`s limited to one or two specific products, I wouldn`t hesitate to try the Gamma Buckets.

This is sorta the flip-side of our usual rants about how VOC regs spoiled everything.

My storage room smells like QDs, nothing irritating...which might oughta surprise me!

Totally redoing the shelving. Found some
    Sealed tubs. At Menards

Found some CGs pad cleaner that had been leaking. Right by where I sit on the computer. Plus I will keep the Brakedust cleaner
in a Gamma bucket within a zip lock .

Thanks for all the advice !

I use tubs very similar to the ones in your picture Mary. I don`t smell anything. You should be good.

It was probably that Pad Cleaner causing the throat irritation (Blackfire Pad Cleaner smells rough). I keep 95% of my supplies in the garage and it always smells "chemically" when I go in there. I think most of my smell is from the myriad of iron and wheel cleaners I have on hand.

One more trip to Menard`s, more tubs, Lg & Sm.
The room looks like a Tornado hit, but tubs fit on the shelves.
Main stink bombs, gallon pad cleaners and Wheel decon`s.
Iron removers I can smell right through the Gamma sealed bucket.

I have not had any out gassing problems where it was a smell issue but a couple products (under carriage spray and others) seem to vent. Need to keep them tightly closed. The temperature cycle may be doing it.

Re: Off gassing of Detail chemicals

So this is what I came up with...

Much better, sealed in everything. Threw away a lot of my
    beginner`s products.
Trying to do this and work OT and order new products
    and learn this camera
