    Jescar compound

Lately I`ve been using Fast Correcting Cream or HD Cut. I`m starting to get low on the FCC and thought about trying another compound. The Jescar caught my eye as well as the Sonax compound. Is there anything that I need to know about these products? Are they finicky?

I`ve had great luck with FCC I`m just getting the itch to explore another compound.

I`ve never tried the Menzerna products either. I can`t remember the acronym but isn`t it a product that as you work it in it diminishes?

SMAT - Super Micro Abrasive Technology

    DAT - Diminishing Abrasive Technology

Without going in to great detail (Google it and you`ll get tons of hits) one stays micro, and the other breaks down or diminishes. The experts can correct me if I`m wrong but I think the SMAT is more consumer based since there can be residue left on the paint during the process to buff off. If you use the DAT and don`t break it down completely, you can induce more swirls by rubbing the abrasives into the paint.

I`ve used both, the fast cut I feel is more versatile, jescar is an excellent compound also.

It`s a very nice compound. Not groundbreaking, but very good.

used both. i would say jescar has a little bit more cut. has a slight chemical scent but nothing overwhelming unless u sniff it straight from the bottle.

i`m gonna stock both. i feel like griots can finish down great with the right pad

    Just a note about Jescar:
They are the USA importer for Menzerna products, but their forte is in guitar frets and finishing of guitars, and many of Menzerna`s automotive compounds and polishes have been "tweeked" (reformulated) for the guitar industry.
That said, they soon will become the sole importer and distributor of Menzerna products and will sell Menzerna products under the Jescar brand. This is already being done with the sealant (Power Lock) and wax (Color Lock). Seems to me there was a post some time ago about this subject and a Jescar representative assured everyone that the Menzerna products will still be available, although some may be tweeked (reformulated) for the USA market.

So, you`re saying Jescar is a guitar finishing compound first?
