If Hydro2 is like Permanon ( and I think it is) the electrostatic bond will not happen with cloth or rubber.
I spoke to the Canadian Distributor of Permanon and he confirmed for Permanon.
Since the bonding is instantaneous then no bond, no problem.
I have both and this seems to be very siimilar.

I have used Hydr02 on quite a few convertibles in the past and have not had any issues. If you are that worried about it why not use a product like Reload or Gtechniq C2V3 as they will provide a few months of durability till you have the time to coat it. Either way I don`t see that you will have any issues really.
