Optimum gloss coat....

So I coated my jeep today and it seems like I used barely any. It`s white so it`s fairly tough even under the bright lights to see the application. Is it possible I didn`t use enough? I put the requisite amount to prime the pad and then every time I added even more than the recommended 4 drops. Likely 6-7 drops. Even after a panel I`d hit some black rubber and there`d still be plenty of product to coat the rubber seals without adding more drops. So I think I`m ok. Just seems like I didn`t use much. Granted the jeep doesn`t have much in the way of painted surfaces and the plastics I already coated with Dlux.

This is what I have left. I even went back over and did the hood, cowl, grill, and windshield surround...and still this much left. I know it says to apply it thin.....Hopefully I didn`t apply it too thin. There were barely any high spots to hit, either. It was pretty hot today with crazy humidity, so that doesn`t surprise me that there weren`t many high spots. It flashed almost immediately. I maybe used 3-4cc`s out of 10.

I usually go with a double coat. But for 1 coat that is about normal. I`ve used it on 3 vehicles.

2010 Camaro - I used about 7-8cc`s with 2 coats applied with a suede applicator (paint only)
2015 Impala - Used about 9cc`s with 2 coats with a suede applicator (paint and trim)
2002 Corvette - Used about 7-8cc`s with 2 coats with the blue foam applicator (paint and trim)

You are ok with the amount you used. A little does go a long way. If you want to ensure even coverage go ahead and add another coat. Optimum even recommends adding a coat of opti-seal to protect gloss coat during the curing time of a week.

The white paint does look great and glossy.

I`ve always enjoyed hydrophobic coatings.
The Dlux on my plastics and wheels is nothing short of incredible.

Nice. CarPro Dlux should be included in the glove box of every new Jeep. I hate seeing a cool looking Jeep with trashed trim.

Agreed! My neighbor is asking me how much I charge to do his now. These plastics fade sooooooo bad and quick!

If you think at annytime you are not applying product to the paint hit the nearest glass. It will suprise you. Of course you should wipe it off the glass with a micro fiber towel (or do the glass panel complete). I find the tinted glass is a good testing material as you can see everything.

That`s what I did with rubber trim and I could still see plenty of product going down. I drove it through some rain today and the water couldn`t even stay on it. It now needs a bath, which she`ll get later this week as we`re finally approaching 7 days. Fortunately most of those 7 days she`s been in my garage.
