Anyone try Duplicolor Custom Wrap for paint protection?

Just wondering. I have seen it advertised as a way to spice up the look of your car, but then I saw a "clear coat wrap." I got thinking (which isn`t always a good thing for me) I wonder if this can or has been used to protect, say, the bumper covers of a car on a trip.

I travel to the Adirondacks every now and again, and the car gets splashed with mud, sometimes sand, the usual road grit, bugs, tar, sap etc. Just wondering if this could be applied before a trip and peeled off after. My thinking is that it wouldn`t be worth it because you probably would have to remove the wax to apply it, and for protecting the paint you are probably better off with the wax than the wrap.

Anybody ever try this product? What do you use/do to protect your car before a trip?

Right? But one thats more tight fitting. I had considered a bra but I have heard that sometimes dirt and grit and such can get caught between them and the paint and end up doing more harm than good.

The old strap on type car bras were infamous for causing more damage than they stopped. Most people would put them on and not take them off for years and when they did their would be all types of damage from trapped dirt and water. I don`t see many bras on cars anymore. They were big in the 70`s-early 90`s. I had one on my `93 Vette and had terrible water spots/etching on black paint. It had to be wet sanded before I sold it.
