Using rinseless as qd vs waterless wash

I would like to ask a question I have wondered about for quite some time now.

So I am a huge rinseless fan. I buy a few different ones by the gallon.
When my garage ride is barely dirty I use a rinseless wash at quick detailer dilution. I spray it liberally and essentially treat it as a waterless wash.

Should I consider buying an actual Waterless Wash? Bf ww for example.
I mean...Is bf ww more lubricated than bf rw at qd dilution?

I ask because I want to just pick up Uber rw and call it a day but I don`t want to risk marring my paint by using a qd when i should be using a ww.

I know this may seem like a ridiculous dilemma i am debating but I need this addressed.lol.

I use DG Rinseless like that and haven`t had a problem. I haven`t used the ww formulations.

With Uber, according to the dilutio ratios
1/3 oz + 16 oz h20= ww
1/3 oz + 14 oz h20= qd (3oz + 1gal)

Im gonna try uber anyways but I always thought ww was stronger than qd.

I do the same thing with my garage queens with Rinsless wash when putting my car covers on and off. If you already have a Rinseless wash just Mix it up at QD or waterless strength. I have been doing it recently with WG Uber.

Ok. So, there is prolly going to be a lot of doubters coming out of the wood work trashing what I`m going to say, but... As usual - I`ll say it anyway.

QDs, RWs, & WWs are all different. RWs work best as RW. WW work best as waterless washes. A great QD works best as a quick detailer.

Sure, you can mix a RW to wipe down a car. It will work. But, it`s not the best.

1. Use a RW in a bucket. It`s works the best for this.

2. WW can be use to wash a pressure rinsed car that isn`t too dirty without marring the paint. They also work to clean just a car with some dust.

3. QD work best for cars just washed to impart to gloss or to dry it.

You can use a RW for all 3. Is it best - No.

I tend to follow manufacturer`s recommendation. For example ONRWW doesn`t have an advertised waterless wash dilution ratio and D115 doesn`t have an advertised Rinseless ratio. I think the lines separating QD and WW nowadays are very blurred though. Spraying a QD liberally is probably safer than spraying a WW sparingly. What matter most is technique and washing media used probably. That being said I really like Uber as both a RW and WW and I`ll probably use it exclusively when I run out of ONR and D115.

I use d115 for rinseless washing at normal dilution ratios and it works very well. I also use it mixed at 1:10 for touchups, cleaning the windshield, etc and it works great for these as well. Ironically, I don`t use d115 as it was intended, a waterless wash, since I don`t do that type of washing.

Im have uber 16 oz in the cart. Excited to try it. I agree the lines seem blurred and media/method most likely trumps the spray since im using it liberally anyways.

I see what you are saying and you are probably correct but lets take a product like uber for instance.
Its a versitle solution that can be used straight as a rw or can be diluted into ww, qd, or clay lube

If you do the math, unless i was wrong and i checked it twice....

1/3 oz uber + 16 oz water = ww
1/3 oz uber + 14 oz water = qd

it would appear the qd uber is more concentrated. I suppose that could work for or against you.

Now using something like pinnacle liquid gloss rw as at qd dilution as a ww may not be recommeded but as liberally as im using it I can`t imagine it would be any worse than using their specific ww dilution (i belive they have one).

I guess that`s just my way to justify not buying their rw And ww seperately.

I guess uber is just so bad@ss that it can be all those things

What ratio do you use for Rinseless?

I usually mix 2 oz of D115 in about 2.5 gallons of water (0.8 oz per gallon). I prefer a little stronger solution than the typical rinseless dilution of 1 oz per 2 gallons. As a waterless wash (for touchups and glass only), I mix at 1:10 using either distilled or filtered water.

Used both, i think rinseless is better and safer.
