No link handy, but Top of the Line sells a product called Akrya Klean (previously called`PrepWash) that I like for this.` Works much better for me than IPA.` It`s not supposed to need it, but I rinse after using the stuff.

Don`t know if he is still using it, but Barry recommended a mix of IPA and HD Window cleaner--

    `

16 oz of HD 50:1 HD Window Cleaner (already mixed)

    8 oz of 70% IPA

    8 oz water

Meg`s glass cleaner, but still has some issues common to alcohol. Use reverse osmosis water for any of the mixes.

yeah, Im looking for something that doesn`t dry out the paint.

    `

I use megs glass cleaner, and it works pretty well without drying out the paint like IPA (for softer paints like Ferrari black or bmw black)

    `

erasure is the ````, just very expensive, but not as expensive as re-polishing the car I guess.

    `

what is the name of the product people are using that is a machine applied coating prep?

IPA is a very dry solvent, no lubication in it. Maybe a little Mineral Spirits (more lube) mixed in, would help.

Or wash the car with a prep wash, alkalie, after the polishing session. This will take car of all the residues after the polishing session, including all the

dust that could have found its was into all the crevices and etc.

We buy it by the gallon(well, more like 5 liters at a time) and it`s a perfect fit. `We burn through 5 liters over the course of about 2 months. When you break it down per job it`s not bad at all at maybe about $5.`

You guys actually think ipa dries the paint in the little time it lingers as a liquid on the surface or are you going on the TOGWT unproven theory?

I only use a little Meg`s Final Inspection, most of the time I don`t use that. The waxes I use and even Menzerna Power Lock don`t seem to required an alcohol wipe down before using. I wouldn`t try that with Zaino though, that is why I quit using it.

Richard Lin, creator of Black Wow, also developed Slippery IPA and it`s really nice. It`s a gel you mix with your own IPA (saves has mat shipping) and from my testing, it`s perfect for pre coating prep without the worry or reintroducing marring from the wipe down.
