    Hi,

I would like to try out some Menzerna compounds. I have most recently been using the Poorboys SSR polishes. Usually for the type of work I do, I normally use SSR2.5 followed by SSR1 (sometimes with SSR2 in between if it is a dark colour).

I very rarely need the SSR3 but I would like to have an equivalent Menzerna polish at hand.

With this in mind, which 3-4 Menzerna polishes should I try? I have a Rupes Rotary, a Flex DA and a porter cable

While I am at it, is there a good Menzerna LSP to top it with?

If I had to pick 3 it would be:

    FG400

    Power Finish 2500 (PO203)

    Super Finish 4500 (PO85rd)

I use those 3 all the time.

Sidebar: Any idea which of those (if any) most closely resembles Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0? (I ask only because it`s made by Menzerna)

    Now I`m a little confuse.

Will the FF3000 give better finish than SF4500 in some paint?

As it got Gloss 9/10 and the SF4500 5/5.5.

oh, think I get it, the values are different maybe from different times.

Look at both cut and gloss levels; slightly more cut (polishing enhances shine) and will produce greater gloss

Note: the defintion of `gloss` is depth of shine

    Another Menzerna polish question.

I have two bottles of Menzerna polish, bought somewhere back around ~2004-2006 I`m guessing. They were white plastic, 16oz, shaped similar to the Klasse bottles, with purple-ish labels and the two polishes were named "Intensive Polish" and "Final Polish II". No other product identifiers that I can recall. Can someone please tell me where those two products slot in on the above list? Are they still existing product just slightly renamed, or both older discontinued polishes replaced with something better?

    Thanks.

The Intensive Polish should still be the same, perhaps tweaked slightly. The Final Polish II I believe is going to be similar to PO106FA but not the same. I would like to know if the formula for Final Polish II is still being made. I have had a few instances when nothing else would finish to my satisfaction and FPII saved the day. How much of the FPII do you have left? Willing to part with it?

I was curious if the prior version was more intended for rotary use only, and the newer one more DA friendly, IF it had changed at all... The old labelling doesn`t really make mention of DA/RO polishers if I remember correctly (not in front of me right now).

I think I have most of the 16oz bottle remaining still. I`d have to give that some thought whether to part with it or not, plus we are moving into the window of not ideal timing to ship liquid product to/from northern alberta now that our weather is turning cold. Perhaps we can revisit this next spring.
