Rapid remover by Rapidtac

I helped a clear bra installer remove an old bra today and he introduced me to Rapid remover by Rapidtac, what a super solvent. I used it on the adhesive and it worked great, spray, soak and wipe off. I then tackled some tire rubber (race car) and tar and same thing, just great. It is also water soluble too. I`m ordering a 32oz bottle for myself right now. Give it a try guys, YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY.

Would it possible to see the MSDS for the product?

That will be a great aid in understanding if it is something, which while it may work quick, is it actually paint/clear safe in the long term?

You have read this MSDS?

It is not as bad as it may appear on first viewing.

However, there is a reason for all the "skull and cross bones".

That said, the di-limolene portion is a concern, but not recognized as much here in the States as in Europe.

Been on the "bad" list since the mid 90`s over there.

I use a high concentrate of that in some of my work, but always wear chemical proof gloves and lots of air movement when I do use it, sometimes I wear my paint respirator. Not good for the lungs, etc.

The other components are not all that bad, in many products, just that the percentages are always adjusted to meet performance needs of the product.

Just be careful if you chose to use it on a regular basis, and it may have a negative effect on some refinished panels.

I order it by the gallon! Just picked up a new jug yesterday in fact. In my last job I used it to remove decals from commercial trucks. Hands down rapidtac was the best stuff I ever used. I believe its citrus based (smells like oranges anyway) and it turns adhesive into jelly that is easily wiped off or carefully scrapped off with a plastic razor. I now use it almost daily for small jobs, but when using it for large jobs gloves and a mask are a must.

$60 for a gallon and it lasts a long time.

I should also mention, if you are using it to remove adhesive on an interior panel (ie. removing the double sided tape people use to stick gps mounts to their dash) be careful...it will leave the dash or panel dull looking.

Grumpy, thanks for the interpretation of the MSDS. I have to admit I wasn`t very careful with it as it has very little aroma and only is slightly oily on ones fingers. I dabbed some on a MF and just wiped on the adhesive residue. I did not have any noticeable effects at all after using. My pal who helped me is a clear bra installer and he showed me how to remove the bra. One does not pull perpendicular to the surface or it will leave lots of adhesive on the surface. Peel a corner back and then stretch the material parallel to the surface and most of the adhesive will stay on the bra. Be careful when stretching, if the material breaks you will punch yourself in the face or gut.

It is a great solvent!

I have a gallon of it, that is available over here.

I have been aware of it`s abilities since the late 80`s.

I have also, due to what my work in the industry exposed me to, what it can do, what it`s downside, when used without understanding, can do.

Not knocking it, just putting out things that most would not consider.
