NanoSkin rain prep and Rain vs Wolf`s Glass guard. The windshield had aquapel last applied 8-10 months ago, it still had some "action" left, but nothing like new. I prepped both sides by using Bar Keepers Friend (liquid) by hand on a MF app, IPA and Megs glass cleaner wipe downs. I did use the Nanoskin rain prep as directed prior to the Nanoskin Rain application.

I`ll do some video the next time I wash the truck, usually once a month. After that I will be update every two months or when I have time. I`m guessing it will be at least 6 months before we see degradation. Maybe it will rain when Joey and I are heading home from a detail and I`ll have him video.

AquaPel says right on the packaging, if I recall, 3 months before redoing.

I have used it for years, but don`t use wave wand or automatic car washes.(very cautisic detergents that will eat almost anything off)

It stayed great for me for about 4 months before I saw a lessening of the coating, and at 6 months, basically gone.

    Good enough for me.

I can now get it almost anywhere, and that`s a plus.

Ron, Aquapel has served me well in the past, but looking for something more economical. A friend of mine found aquapel about 3 years ago on clearance at Costco in 4 packs for $8-10, I had 10-12 four packs. In the summer its hard to get one applicator to work on all the glass on a larger vehicle before it starts to dry out. So those take 2 applications.

With the Wolf`s glass guard at $30, from what I have used so far, I estimate I will get at least 15 vehicles maybe more.

Go for it, if it works why not?

I don`t have the problem you do, with the Ranchero and the Sebring convert, heck I do both windshields and side glass with one tube of AquaPel.

That good old heat in the south might have something to do with it.

With Aquapel I usually did horz and vert passes with the app on the windshield and then vert on all side glass. Should I just do passes in one direction for the windshield?

Keep in mind here Bryan, completely clean, non treated glass is going to have a repel and roll off effect. Make sure you have a control section, or create one(maybe passenger top corner or even better. 1x1` around the rear mirror).

    Thanks guys!

Mike, I did not think of that. We will have to go with the taped area like SNM said.

Bryan, thank you for giving the Nanoskin surface prep towel and its companions a try.....

I just wanted to comment if I could on your Rain Prep and Rain Glass Sealant vs Wolf Glass Guard face off.

RAIN PREP with AUTOSCRUB Pad/Towel is used to remove contamination and open the pores of the glass.

RAIN GLASS Sealant is used to seal the glass, with this system glass will stay cleaner longer. Also, this sealant is hydrophilic. (The water contact angle is below 4 degrees)

RAIN GLASS SEALANT provides a durable, invisible coating to your windshield giving it excellent rain repellency. The invisible coating repels rain, sleet, and snow to maintain a high level of visibility, dramatically improving weather driving visibility. The treatment also makes for easy removal of ice, frost, salt, mud and bugs. RAIN contains durable anti-static polymer which will help dust from settling on your glass. RAIN also significantly improves scratch resistance.

Using the RAIN PLUS Hydrophobic Glass Treatment System would be a better comparison vs the Wolf Nano Coating.

    *Advanced hydrophobic polymer technology

    *Becomes part of the glass

    *Exceptional oil & water repellent

    *Repels rain, sleet, and snow

    *UV resistant

    *12~18 months protection

*Applies to all exterior glass (not only windshield)

David, I have not tried the towel yet. I should of asked you how to use the Rain prep properly first. Thanks for clearing up the proper use.

I`m just curious as to why you think a better comparison would be the Wolf`s nano sealant (body wrap) instead of the glass guard vs Rain plus. The Wolf`s glass guard is made for glass. ?
