So what`s cool to use now?

Sorry for the generalized question, I`ve been out of the detailing world for over a year or so - been using Zaino all that time and I am ready to change to something just as good, but easier to apply? Hit me :biggrin:

I use about 70% Optimum products now, the other 30% are Meguiars, 3D, Clearkote, Leather Masters.



Optimum Opti-Seal and Optimum Car Wax are pretty much the easiest to apply products out there.

I love this question because I was gone for a while too (while I lived in Brooklyn and it was hard as hell to keep the Jeep looking 100%).



Just had a little love-fest with my Wrangler in the garage with...wait for it...



1) QEW

2) S100 Paint Cleaner (paint and wheels)

3) Collinite 476 (paint and wheels)

4) Old School Armor-All



The interior is cherry, so a moist mf wipedown and vacuum does him right.



Pleased as punch. I`m sure there are some awesome new products out there but there is something to popping open that tin of 476 with a quarter and doing a final wipe down of AA "sweat" with a cheap costco MF that keeps me happy.

3D nitro seal is probably the in product here but I think this forum shies away from the bandwagon. Zaino is still a heavy hitter in the looks dept. Blackfire is nice if you want to try something newer. As Scott mentioned Optiseal is great and easy.

Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant

Optimum - No-Rinse (ONR), Car Wax (OCW), Power Clean (OPC), Opti-Coat 2.0, various polishes (if I could keep up with how fast they change formulas)

Meguiars - 105, 205, D300, 5.5" Microfiber Cutting Discs, Quick Interior Detailer (one of the best OTC products I`ve used)

Duragloss - 901 Car Wash, 951 AquaWax (don`t know if Duragloss will ever be "cool" but their stuff rocks)

Sonax Full-Effect Wheel cleaner



There`s probably way more botique type stuff that`s cool right now, but that`s a list of stuff I use on a pretty regular basis and love.

No, Optimum makes all their own stuff other than pads, MF towels and the wash pads. All their polishes, cleaners, sealants, waxes, etc are made at their plant in Memphis.



The product lines with the similarities are Zaino and Duragloss. I can`t tell any difference between their comparable products. The leather conditioners smell exactly the same.

If you`re happy with how everything you currently use works, then I wouldn`t change it.



But stuff for correction has come a long way, so if you still struggle to correct marring there are products that can make that a piece of cake.



And the new coatings *do* have a lot going for them, at least for some applications.



Otherwise, gee...most of what I use has been around for years, so maybe I`m just the wrong guy for this topic :think:

that`s right, it was them - i talked to someone at zaino before about it and they said their products are different, i left it at that.

when i left the detailing world about 2 years ago, i sold my PC 7424 w/ OEM case and my whole collection of new LC pads too for cheaphwell:



now i am looking at the GG one and LC CCS 5.5" pads - I never liked the 6.5", maybe because I`m not professional enough - just a weekend warrior :pound:

You might even change your mind about the 6-6.5" pads when you get the Griot`s polisher. Yeah, it really *is* that much better.
