Jeweling/Finishing - Menz PO87MC or PO85RD

As the title states, which one does everybody like better for the final, eye popping shine and why? Very

87MC has slightly more cut than 87rd. Ultrafina is another good jeweling final polish.

This is second-hand, but I thought the rule-of-thumb was to use PO87MC for softer paints and PO85RD for hard ones :think: Somebody please correct me if that`s wrong....

I got some PO85RD to use for this on hard clear but I haven`t gotten around to trying it yet.

I`ve heard the same thing, but haven`t noticed a difference between the two. At one time Menzerna had 87MC with less cut than 85RD and now it`s the opposite..go figure.

I had heard through the grapevine that 87MC was being phased out, but couldn`t find anything other than just "rumors"

I was told that PO106 FA and PO85RD are the same product except 106 has more "powder" in it and is a better product. More of the same!

I don`t disagree with the chart. I`m repeating what the Menz rep told me at AG`s Detail Fest.

He stated Menz "discontinued" PO85rd and replaced it with 106.

Folks wanted PO85 so much Menz had to bring it back.

He said "It`s all about what you like to use, not about what the product actually is."

Pretty interesting comment from the Menz rep. 106FA is the replacement for 106FF and supposedly has a bit more lubricity than 106FF. I think there`s been more than one thread here and elsewhere on how confusing Menz polish nomenclature can be. They have a several "85" polishes. It`d be nice if they`d sort it out for us mere mortals?

We don`t get some of the products here, for example RE 5. And I think that Power Lock is made here?

I`m starting to get a headache!

Menzerna PO85RD was never discontinued, maybee the North american rep decided not to import it? But PO85RD is not their best selling polish, thats all I can say. PO106FA is selling so much better

since its have a wider spectrum; more cut and more pad dependant then PO85RD.
