So the wife and I were looking at new Civics last w.e. Paper decals next to the window stickers listed"paint glaze" as a dealer option. I`m sure they`re not hand applying #7 and removing it according to Mike Phillips` directions... any idea what this "glaze" is? Hoping to take a car home and peel off the plastic hood guards and other pieces myself, if we buy.

My guess its the product they upsell, one of the makers is PermaPlate.

Thanks Greg... I just looked at the PP website. Looks like their Paintguard could be what the sticker refers to - like a sealant. I think I`d rather just do without it and stick with products I know. I want to try Fuzion and who knows what will bond to this PP stuff...:chuckle:

Another way dealers attempt to make a few hundred extra bux. By improperly applying mediocre products and making them sound special.

I highly doubt its Megs #7. They probably get it in a 55 gal drum

If its perma plate it won`t last more than 6 months, and if you use something like P21s total auto wash you can take it off in a few minutes. Its crap compared to other stuff.

    Cheers,

!T h a n x! Greg... that makes it easier to deal with if we can`t buy the car without this "glaze."

Hey that`s a great quote there about profanity and results of a good detail...
