Hello everyone, I wanted to see if anyone know the difference between the meguiars soft buff and soft buff 2. I`ve been using ccs pads but they are a little too stiff for my taste. Does any one know how they stack up to each other? Thanks

Meg`s pads in general are my favorites. My biggest complaint about them though is the new size. Meg`s went from 6.5" on the original SB pads to 7" on the SB 2 pads. I like buffing with smaller pads whether it`s on the DA or on the rotary. I think Meg`s has made a big mistake going to a bigger pad w/o offering a smaller pad as well. Since Meg`s offers nothing smaller than 6.5", I resort to the LC CCS 5.5" low profile pads a lot of the time, particularly on the DA. I too dislike the standard 6.5" LC CCS pads. Even though they are the same diameter as the Meg`s pads, I think they may be taller and/or heavier than the Meg`s pads.
If Meg`s made a flat 5.5" low profile pad similar to the LC pad, I`d be all over it because 1) I prefer flat pads, 2) I think Meg`s foam is much nicer than the LC foam, 3) Meg`s pads are cut better, 3) Meg`s have a slightly curved edge. I`ve seen numerous LC pads that aren`t cut properly so you get a lot of vibrations, even if it`s perfectly centered. Plus, their pads have a sharp edge that makes rotary buffing more cumbersome, IMO.
