i am wanting to try some new car wash/shampoos and want some opinions (i know dilution plays a role for some, but just in general). so with that said... what`s the least and most aggressive car wash/shampoos you have used (ONR users, no need to reply)?

    least aggressive - ?

    most aggressive - ?

one that will always stay in your arsenal - ?

I`ve not tried nearly as many as others. That said...

Least aggressive: Not real sure here but I`m gonna say Meg`s Gold Class.

Most aggressive: This is an easy one for me, Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Clear. I would use it in my foam cannon for extreme amounts of shaving cream-like foam.

One that will always stay in my arsenal: Optimum Car Wash and (sorry Al) ONR.

Al, I`d say Meg`s #00 is the most "neutral" shampoo I`ve used. An excellent product, too.

Most aggressive? Hmmm...probably say Meg`s Gold Class...nothing made my hands burn like that stuff. Don`t know what the deal is with it.

Go-to wash: I`m transitioning from Griot`s to the Optimum product, which is just exceptional in the foam gun.

Other favorites: 1Z Exclusiv Glanz, EagleOne Nano wash (bulk product, winter use)

The most aggressive I have tried is CG `No More Bugs & Tar Heavy Duty Shampoo`. It will strip most wax.

The least Aggressive I have tried is probably the cheap Zym0l stuff.

I think I have all of the CG shampoos and I love them. (Al, PM me if you want some samples.)

I`d also like to try the Meguiar`s Detailer line of shampoos but I haven`t gotten around to it yet. I have a few gallons of CG shampoos so if anyone wants to trade some samples let me know.

    IMO

Least aggressive in my collection is PB Super Slick & Suds

Most aggressive in my collection CG Citrus Wash & Clear

    Collection consists of:

    CG Citrus Wash & Clear

    CG Citrus Wash & Gloss

    DG 901

    DP Xtreme Foam

    Meguiars Gold Class

    Optimum Car Wash

Poor Boys Super Slick & Suds

    I will always keep:

    CG Citrus Wash & Clear

Meguiars Gold Class since it`s a good OTC and cheap at Costco $7.99 for 5 Qts I buy a couple ever season.

Sage advice from Greg Nichols: "Hey, Supe? When you`re trying to get the air bubble out of your syringe of Opti-Coat, don`t point it at your face, mmmkay?"

How less aggressive can it get than ph neutral with no stripping ability?

Well I guess besides those factors, the least agressive shampoo I`ve use is PB super slick and suds. It just "feels" like it has a ton of lubricity. It doesn`t just feel like soapy water like some other shampoos I`ve used. I guess you can say it feels "rich".

And I haven`t used anything more agressive than citrus wash and clear but than again I haven`t had a need to.

    Most/least aggressive in what way

Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo seems *very* harsh on LSPs. IIRC so did the Blackfire shampoo.

Griot`s Car Wash seems to do *zero* stripping on certain LSPs, including KSG.

I`m with tom p., per usual, in that the Meg`s #00 is simply gentle in all respects. And also like him, I`m using the Griot`s but he *almost* has me convinced to switch to Optimum (I`ll try it when I get low on Griot`s).

Accumulator - Shoot me a PM with your address and I`ll send you a sample of Optimum Car Wash. I just got a new gallon of it last week.
