Hi Guys, I`m fairly new to detailing, I started about half a year ago with paint correction and want broaden my work to a full exterior detail.

I need recommendations on what products to use for wheel/tire, wheel wells, engine compartment, glass parts and exterior trim.

I`ve been reading reviews and product descriptions here and other online stores but they are just making more confused on what to get. So any recommendations from people who actually used the product before would be appreciated.

    Thanks in adnvance!

    Hi, welcome aboard.

Do you want to share what kind of car you`re working on, its condition, age, color, basic stuff, etc. to include what products you have that may or may not be working?

Wheel wells and eng. compartment: Clean via any general APC and dress with Meg`s Hyper at 4:1.

Meg`s Hyper is also great on tires; I prefer 3:1 on most tires.

If you have hard black-plastic grained trim Poorboy`s Trim Restore works well and is easy to apply.

Everyone has their opinion for glass but three favorites are: Meg`s DetailerLine glass cleaner; Invisible Glass; and SurfCity glass cleaner.

This is actually just a general question, no specific car..

I`ve worked on a lot of cars but only doing paint correction, I currently use just car shampoo to clean the wheels, armor all tire foam and just windex for glass. I know those are POS that is why I`m asking recommendation. I dont even clean wheel wells. :chuckle:

I use the full menzerna product line for paint correction, I`m sticking with it for now as I`m already familiar on how they behave or cut on different paint conditions when I mix and match with pads.

Thanks for your recommendation mblgjr! I`ll look into those products...

I`ve had pretty good luck with some of the CG products. I just wish they had a location on the East Coast!
