I Usually use 90% IPA rubbing alcohol but my wife bought me some 70% from walmart...2 bottles.

Will it still remoove oils, wax etc easily? should I just use less distill water with it? like 70 alcohol/30 water? what do you think?

I`m certainly no expert, but before I bought the 91%, I`ve used the 70% and mixed it 1:1 with distilled water and it worked fine. Maybe someone with more experince will chime in.

The only difference between the two is the water and IPA conntent so if you want to adjust to the same formula of how you`ve been mixing before then just do the math. In order to get a 50% mix of IPA with the 90% product you need to add 9 ounces of the IPA to 7 ounces of distilled water. With the 70% product you will use 12 ounces (this wasa rounded up for simplicity) and then add 4 ounces of distilled water. Both formula`s will yield you 16 ounces of an approximately 50% pure alcohol solution.

    Trivia:

IPA stands for isopropyl alcohol so your title is a little redundant. Isopropyl alcohol is tough to say and long to type out so you can simply say, "isopropanol" which means the same thing.
