Any opinions on this? I am looking for a good QD that is also cost effiecient. 32oz for $20 should yield a gallon of QD, I think that is very cost effective. I do not want to buy something that is not going to perform as well as others out there to save a few dollars though. I am curently using Meg UQD and I like it but it is pretty expensive. So any opinions on OPT ID? Thanks all

It`s ok stuff. I have it. But I like FK1 425 the best.

There are many threads on this already.

For now, it is my favorite QD. Seems to just dissapear into the paint, and the slickness and gloss are very immediate. It`s been a while since I`ve used 425, but I don`t remember being as impressed with it as I am with OID.

Optimum Instant Detailer 32 makes at LEAST a gallon. Some people dillute it up to 4:1 vs 3:1 like the bottle suggests. Either mixes would still be significantly better than Meguire`s UQD..which BTW is really good. This Opt ID is awesome.

    Go with it!

Excellent stuff. Noticably amps up the appearance and slickness.

I agree with Scott. I was very skeptic, but then I tried it!

I have both the OID and FK425. In my eyes, OID makes the paint deeper, however, it streaks a lot. My car is black and streaks are very obvious, especially on my hood. If only it was not "streakish", I find the looks better than FK425. Because of it streaking, I find myself reaching for FK425, which is also a very good QD.

FK425 makes my paint more reflective vs. OID which I think makes my paint darker, with a more mellow hue.

IMHO OID is slicker and also cheaper then 425.

I have both. I also find OID streaks. Some have suggested adding more water to the mix. I`ll try that next.

I`ve had some light streaking of OID over 476s, kinda wierd because I`ve used it over fresh 845 with good results (I thought it had something to do with curing), and the 476s had been on the car for 3 months.
