I need some advice on what pads I should be using with my UDM and whether the pads I currently have are adequate. Two types of pads came with the unit:

    1 - White 6" Foam Pad

    UDM Polishing Pad, 6"

    3 - Orange Low Profile 5.5" Pads

Orange Low Profile 5.5 Inch Pad 6 Pack CLOSE OUT

I`m not striving to become a professional at this (yet), and therefore, I want to keep the number/types of pads I need to an absolute minimum. I will be using Z-PC as a polish, followed by Z-AIO and Z-2.

Will the Orange pads I have work well with the Z-PC? They seem really stiff, but maybe thats how all orange pads are. Will this finish down LSP ready? Would I be better off with the Orange CCS Smart Padsâ„¢ by Lake Country?

Will the White pad be sufficient for applying the AIO? I also have another White pad that Bryan graciously sent me (which looks nicer than the one incuded with the UDM). I plan apply the Z-2 by hand.

I`m hoping to get by with just a few Orange and White pads. But I see all of these green/gray/blue/red pads and wonder if any of these are needed as well.

Your best bet is purchasing a 6.5" kit and 4" kit from Patrick at Excel Detail, the links that BigAl3 listed. Good luck!
