My Cam Spray foam cannon isn`t producing foam like it used to. It`s kicking stuff out that is closer to a Glimore gun that attaches to a regular hose.

I noticed last fall that it wasn`t working as well as it had been. Now it`s even worse. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so were you able to fix it?

I`d send it back for a replacement, but I don`t think Cam Spray makes this particular model anymore. And I have no idea if their current one is worth using.

Edit: Cam Spray *does* still make this model. Found here: Foamer Attachment Camspray

I had to take mine apart once as some very small piece for rubber, from the o-ring in the wand, became lodged in the jet. It wouldn`t spray much then. If your seeing less out put I would take it apart and saok the jet, as there is probably some soap buildup. Also the air intake area can plug up.

I can`t see anything major going wrong with these cannon unless a plastic peice breaks.

Mine is still working fine even though I pulled the front nozzle off and lost the 2 small metal balls over some tall grass. I guess its best to run some clear water thru them after a few uses.

Quick question SuperBee or anyone else that uses the same cam spray gun. What ratios and what products are you guys guys getting the best results with (as in more foam). I put a new 32oz bottle on it rather than the small one it came with and have yet to find a good enough ratio for more foam.

I have been playing with mine a lot and what works well for me is to put 6-8 oz of soap into the 32oz bottle then fill with water (20-24oz) with cheap wash soap like TW zip wax:nervous:. Now I just mix a gallon at a time 3:1 water/soap. This will thin the soap enough for it to get pulled into the p/u tube. More concentrated soaps will require more water. With Meg`s shampoo plus I use 6:1 or 8:1 and get great foam.

Keep in mind that I don`t run the foam cannon wide open, I turn the red knob back to the 1/2 way point (on mine there is a raised line on the dial). Any less and the soap will not mix with the water. I can foam a large truck 2 times slowly including the undercarriage, wheels and wells.

I think this was with zip wax/3:1/cannon set to min rate.

This is how I do it, it may or may not work great for you.

    I use either:

Zaino Z7 3oz and the rest water in the 32oz bottle.

CG CWC 3oz and the rest water in the 32oz bottle.

2oz CG CWC and 1 oz Z7 and the rest water in the 32oz bottle.

I also adjust the knob on top half way.

Superbee, I don`t know anything about that gun, but I`d agree with scary bill that it sounds like a clogged siphon tube or clogged something else. The Gilmore guns sometimes lose an air bleed screw, possibly yours developed a leak somewhere preventing proper siphon.

I`ll disassemble it today and see what I find.

I`ve tested about 30 different soaps and combinations thereof through this thing last summer. My favorite that I`m still using to this day is: 2 oz of Z7, 1 oz of Chemical Guy`s Citrus Wash & Gloss. Then I fill the rest of the 32 oz bottle with warm water. I use max ratio on the foam cannon. When the foam cannon is working right, this combination gives me about 1.5 inches of thick shaving cream. The CW&G has a rinsing agent in it that fights water spots and leaves a fantastic shine. Just don`t use too much CW&G, because it *will* strip your LSP at higher ratio.

I`ve posted these two videos before, so I apologize for the repeat, but anyway... the first one is just Z7, and the second one is just CW&G. Using the Z7 and CW&G together is the ticket.

Hey thanks for all the quick, in-depth responses guys. I`ll play with the CG CWG some more. One more question to, this time only to SuperBee bc I have the same exact PW he has. When the PW is just at idle, does yours give a constant hum or does it oscillate. I`m just trying to make sure I`ve got it running right. I tried to tell from your video but couldn`t hear it too well. Thanks again.

Ya know, I`m not sure. I`m hoping to use it today now that I have one of my hoses thawed out. I`ll pay attention to it, and get back to ya.

Edit: It idles smoothly. I back the throttle way down to idle when I`m changing attachments or letting it run if I`m using the BHB, then full throttle while spraying.

Hey superbee, were you able to figure out what was wrong with your foam gun? Oh and seeing all the foamed up cars in this thread made me finally break down and order my foam cannon. I can`t wait to get it.:woohoo:

I soaked it for a couple hours in phosphoric acid based cleaner, rinsed it out, and now it`s working pretty well again.

Still planning on taking it apart, though.

Is Spoiled Man having troubles with his foam cannon, too?
