UPGP seems to be a little under-rated on Autopia.
UPGP is less popular and or may be under rated for a couple reasons IMO.
- UPGP has to have a very very well prepped finish. It amplifies poor prep work. Thus it is easier to use a product that "hides" these flaws rather than amplifying them.
- UPGP has a LONG cure time between coats. How many cusomers can put up without their ride for four coats or UPGP at twelve hours plus between coats? Let alone everything that needs to be done to get to the point of the LSP.
- UPGP is seemingly expensive. People that have not used it yet, just do not understand, how little product it takes to seal an entire vehicle (even on a large vehicle). A bottle of UPGP goes much much farther than any wax and or sealant I have previously used.
- Speed Even though there are impressive curing times between coats, actually applying a coat takes between five and ten minutes from start to finish (again even on fairly large vehicles). And no buff is required. (*NOTE* I personally like to buff the final coat either by hand with a thick soft MF or with a PC and an ultra-soft no cut pad.)
These are just my observations. I will be staying with Ultima for the long haul. I expect that the customer base will grow as people realize what a revolution this product has proven to be.
