The problem with the MF mitts is really the density of the strands.

Long nap bent over on itself isn`t so much a problem as compression of nap at a point where they lay in opposite directions, thereby exposing backing material. In that case, the length of the nap isn`t so much a problem as the density is. A greater density can help prevent backing material exposure. Avoiding excess compression is also the issue there, as it would be with any length of nap.

This is a good reason for avoiding using any towel in a wadded (sp?) up form. I`ve seen some youtube videos where pros crumple up the towel for QD or residue removal. If folded properly into quarters, this doesn`t become an issue.

For residue removal, our testing has shown the longer naps are sexier and softer to use, but much less effective, particularly on the more difficult to remove residues. But they sure feel nice in your hands.

I`ll still stick with my choice elite microfiber as being the best MF towel. They do everything great!

I have a few of Bob`s phat towels and really like them too, but at $6 a piece, they are a litle pricey!! Danase needs to run a sale on them!!! I`ve been buying a lot of nice towels for nice prices from Justin at Obsessive Detail and from Bob at Detailers Domain.

They have a newer towel, the Devourer, is it better than his PHAT towel? I just ordered one too to try out...

Well I am not sure what the difference is in them because I just got one of Bob`s P.H.A.T. towels and one of his Devourer`s and the only difference I can see and feel is the fact that one is bigger than the other, they both seem like the exact same material.

Maybe BOB can chime in on this??

I still have 3 of Nick`s Detailers Paradise Monster Fluffies bought about 3 years ago. They are by far my most plush MF towel. I have tried tons of other vendor`s towels but don`t have enough experience to offer anything other than a comparison to the Monsters.

Bob`s PHAT towels seem to get a lot of mention here too and I`ll undoubtedly try them soon.

the monster fluffies are very nice towels and definitely alot plusher than most all the mf`s mentioned in this thread. they`re a bit pricey though at around $10 each/3 for $25...

give the eurow shag towels a try, a 10pk will run you around $21.19...

i don`t have one with a tag on it, but i believe either china or korea. either way, it has no bearing on the quality, they`re pretty well made... Eurow O`Reilly Corp
