    Hi all,

I did search to see if this had been posted before.

    Jay Leno`s Garage

The polishing pad looks like it has the potential to scratch if pushed too hard.

The wetsanding looks quite harsh aswell, he only used 1500, then removed the scratches with the "magic" one product.

    Another snake oil product?

Is it me, or was Jay Leno not really interested in hearing anything the rep was saying?

I enjoyed it. It looks interesting, especially the suggestion about it being "safe" for the home user while proudly holding a rotary in his hands. I love that part!!!

Jay seemed pretty interested to me, especially if you consider the fact that there`s probably a bunch of people that want him to try out their products.

My favorite part was when he said, "Hello Armando... Glad I`m not feeding him!". The Tonight Show won`t be the same when Conan O`Brien replaces him.

I wonder how much time these systems can save us. They might be worth it if they could just cut 25% of the time we spend on a car.

That stuff looks scary to me. I loved that part when the camera picks up all the paint on that pad, it seems to me that after he realized it then he had to mention it, but tried to minimize how harsh that product and the wool pad + rotary actually are. Safe for the home user he said That guy must be smoking something. Yeah, I can see me using that on my soft clearcoat.

You always get paint on the pad no matter what kind of paint job you are working with. Even when polishing by hand, you will get that! The key is that most the time we are working with the clear coat, which means the paint we take off is clear, so we don`t see it. One a single stage paint like he was working on, the paint is visible as you are working on the pigment layer.

Take a very mild paint cleaner like Meguiar`s or Mothers step one polish from their 3 step system and it will do the exact same thing even when working by hand.

To me, this looks very interesting, and the part that kinda attracts me to System One is how he said it won`t dry hard on the paint like I know some Meguiar`s polishes do. Haven`t tried their So1o polish, but man, now I am really leaning towards one of these polishes!

When i heard "yeah, anyone can do it. Rotary is burn proof. Tell that to a body shop and they will laugh at you" ... count me as one of the ones that will laugh.
