Understanding Menzerna

I need to establish a good polishing system.



I`ve had experience with Sonus SFX-2 polish and ScratchX.

I`m out of SFX-2, and I think I need to go heavier.

ScratchX really didn`t wow me and it was harder to work with.



I think I should go with Menzerna.



My question is which combo should I get and are some names similar?

IP + FP?

IP + FPII?

SIP + FPII?

SIP + 106ff?

should I get 3? IP + FPII + 106ff? or IP + SIP + 106ff?

I`m getting confused from two charts online...

and the asterisks really throw me off on the Autogeek chart!

Menzerna Polishing Compounds Products, menzerna polishes, menzerna car polish, menzerna nano polish, menzerna final polish, menzerna compound,



I use the 7424 and p21S paintwork cleanser + p21S with much success. (summertime)

And now, I`m getting used to the Klasse twins with increasing success. (now, off season)

My pads are Sonus SFX-1 2 and 3.



Can anyone simplify the Menzerna line for me and make recommendations? Thanks.

I think if you get SIP and 106ff it should take care of all of your polishing needs. The SIP should take care of most of your defects & heavy swirl removal and use the 106ff for your last step. On light color cars, you should be able to use the SIP by itself. No need to use the 106ff except on darker colored cars. I use a rotary for everything and have never used a PC, so you might want to ask someone has uses these products with a PC. I would do a search if you have not already done so.

Yep, got all my Menzerna polishes from Phil as well. Like many other vendors mentioned here, his customer service is top notch. Actually, just received a big order today from him. I started out with Power Gloss, IP and Micro Finish. The Power Gloss works pretty well actually with a PC (and Flex), and I have been able to get it to finish down LSP ready. Same goes for IP. My biggest complaint with these 2 is the dusting. Once my IP runs out, I`ll probably order up some SIP.

The reason you didn`t get a result with scratch x is probably due to it being made from kaolin clay and aliphatic naptha`s. If it`s got any oxide in it, it probably isn`t much

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe kaolin clay is a filler or extremely fine abrasive

you should be able to get by with SIP and FP2 depending on pads used. 106 gets rave reviews but IIRC it is a more expensive product.

I have every Menzerna product and the ones I would go with are SIP and 106.

I also have all the menzerna polishes except FP2 and my go to`s are SIP and 106 .Used with PC/UDM and Rotary. You can`t go wrong with that combo And + 1 on Phil at Detailers Domain great guy and is very helpful and as said fast shipping of product.

Now, if I want to add a heavier cut to my supply (say, for older cars, friends` beater cars, not new cars) should I go with IP? (PO91E) as well? Or will SIP cover that well enough?

+1 for SIP/106 and Phil. SIP over IP. There was a recent thread on here about PO83 here (in the US) is the same as 3.02

There is no need to get IP if you get SIP. If you need something that is more agressive, I would suggest some Menzerna Power Gloss.



I am looking forward to detailing the Prius when you get it. Don`t let the dealer touch it!!

Hmm most of the time yes but 91L IP is actually more powerful than SIP (on traditional clears and SS paints) so I have both and use 91L most of the time
