My wife used my car on Thursday, (2007 Black Lexus) parked under a tree and was attacked by what must have been the worlds largest bird. Car was parked out in the sun most of the day, as soon as she got home she told me about the bird poop, I went out washed it off but it was too late, already etched the paint. I tried to get the etching out by using 360, and then some Mothers Power Polish I had by hand but it didnt work. If I use my PC will either one of those take it out or am I going to have get a little bit more aggressive?

I had similar bird poop on my SLK. I used Duragloss Bug Remover on the spot and finally came off. Used a mesh bug sponge and was careful

    Hey Darren F,

I know some people don`t like their products but I have had good luck with removing bird poop etching using Meguiars Scratch-X. Start with a clean foam applicator pad and use passion behind the pad (elbow grease). you may need to apply this 2 to 3 times. don`t just wipe on wipe off really work it into the paint. If using the foam is not cutting it then try a small piece of terry cloth and do the same thing. Remember when using scratch-x to correct a bird poop etching mark try to concentrate on the area that you are trying to fix and don`t venture into a larger area. Keep the size of the area to be worked no bigger in my opinion that a 8"by8" square area. Good luck.

Some etchings are too deep to be removed. Get a hold of a 5x or 10x magnifying loupe and see how bad it is. If it`s just etched on the surface, then sure, you can buff that off by removing a little paint. I`ve wetsanded some etchings using 2500 or 3000 grit paper and made absolutely no difference because the etchings were too deep.

A goose did me in on a 90 degree day, and after trying all the obvious products, I took the car to the body shop where they ended up wet sanding to get rid of the etchings.
