I had a customer of mine ask me if I use Zymol and told him I would if he supplied it. We were at a car show and walked up to a stand and started talking to the guy at the Zymol stand.

I was first talking to a rep from Zymol and he was telling me it was $5000 a year to become a licensed Zymol user to get discount prices. He then just wrote me an email and told me it actually is a new fee of $12,000 annually. For the $12,000 you get nothing!:LOLOL

He said, you can just buy the Vintage wax without a contract for $1900 and it comes with a free refill. He said the only bad point was they will not refill it unless it is close to 4 years. So, it`s an unconditional refill and is used for personal use only and they will refill it based on an average use which equals to 3-4 years. If it is under those timelines, then they will probably deny the refill.

I told him to have a nice life:sosad Just knowing that Zymol charges that much for nothing and overcharges for their waxes, I will not even buy a cheap tub off of them.

The only thing that works better than their wax is there marketing for them to be rich.:down

What makes a wax worth that much anyway. It does not last forever like a diamond.

This really bothered me, and I will make sure they do not get a dollar from me.

Something can "look" better and even "protect" better but I don`t know about $30k worth of better or even $7,800 worth of better. Man I drive Honda`s and glorified Honda`s. I can get a really nice paint job on any of them for $8k!

Zymöl sure has outstanding PR tactics! There is a reason why they are bashed so much at Detailing World. Even thought they can make good waxes, their rules and business logic is beyond stupid.

There are very good brands which can provide you with better or equal products from Zymöl. Take a look at Swissvax, Zaino, etc.

Zymöl won`t get one more euro cent from me ever since the DW crisis with their name.
If only I could detail the world.

Isn`t Zymol just made by Chemical Guys anyhow? :hide:
A well-prepared surface will make any wax look good.

    hmm,

    does not sound right rydawg?

everyone who bought Vintage says you can refill it every year,

not saying that you are lying but the rep who spoke to you might be high?

just a possibility because this will make buy mystery from swissvax instead.:grrr

As long as it is profitable for them to market this way they will continue to do it. Unfortunately, some people fall for hype.

I don`t even think Zymol reps know what the deal is. When I asked about it online I got an e-mail letting me know it was $9,980 up front, then $2,000 a year every year thereafter. Maybe if MoeMistry sees this he can chime in.

I think the guy you talked to had been smoking some Royale. I`m darn near sure just about everything he told you was wrong. When I spoke to a guy at Zymol`s customer support number, he told me the refills were unlimited. I told him I was going to be doing my cars, my friend`s cars, and my family`s cars with it, and would probably be needing a refill in six months. He said no problem, as long as you aren`t charging for your services, there were no strings attached on the refills.

As to the yearly fees to be a Zymol licensed dealer, I have read in many different places that the numbers are closer to what Picus stated on the first page of this thread.

Guess the only way to know for sure would be to call Zymol directly.

That is what I heard also. But the rep says they are changing the rules a tad bit at zymol. I did get a bad vibe from the rep and his wife also.
