I was at Walmart today during lunch and saw a new product on the self. Turtlewax Foam Away - 1 step wash and wax.

This may just make all of our other detailing supplies obsolete:grinno:

Hey man, don`t diss the wal mart. Where else can you go to the bank, get a haircut, get your pictures developed, grab a big mac, and purchase the miracle detailing product of the century all in one location?

Dont diss this product either, I reviewed it a couple weeks back and it`s actually really good for what it does. It cleans very well, foam lifts dirt, and leaves behind a relativley slick finish.

Dont dog something unless you have tried it guys.

turtle wax could have come up with Clear Shield or Opti-Seal and people here would still refuse to even try it since its turtlewax.

For sure. It all has to do with their past reputation and product quality. It will take along time before a lot of people take them serious again if at all. I was watching an interview the other night on TV about the automotive manufacturers and Toyota coming close to Gm in the U.S.. They where talking about how even though the U.S. manufacturers are on par with Toyota and Honda as far as reliability and such goes people still think of the crappy cars the U.S. made back in the 80`s.

True, Toyota actually built a car for Chevy years back - forgot what they called it but was the twin of the Corolla - guess what - yep, didn`t sell!

Well, all I know is I dont dog a product unless I have personally tried it. I know that TW stuff isnt the best in the world, but they have been making waxes almost as long as anyone else, so they cant be to terribly in the dark about what is happening.

gotta try it. a foaming waterless wash is what I thought of doing but didn`t know how

Too many waterless washes have no body to them, too runny

A foaming one like shaving cream would absorb and break down or encapsulate dirt better than just a wet watery material.

If they made it in a bigger size, that would help
Car care/detailing sadly isn`t high on the agenda for 98% of australians.

It is/was the GEO Prizm. I had one in the mid `90s. It had Toyota stickers on just about all the parts. The body panels and the dashboard where the only things that were different from the Corolla except for it being about $1500 cheaper with the same options.
