Ok, I`m a Klasse user since 2005 and am impressed with what I`ve read here about Duragloss. I`m thinking of making a switch.

    Questions to those currently using:

    1. Typical combo seems to be a 1-2 punch of 105 and AW. Does anyone use their 111 before these two, or is that not necessary?

    2. They have their pre-polishing agents...has anyone used these? I live in Florida and we have some seriously hard water, so from time to time, a water spot will appear. Can I just use one of these where necessary and then layer away with the 105?

    3. Can I use my Klass AIO before 105, or is that not necessary?

    4. What is the usual retail cost for 105 and AW? I don`t mind ordering from Duragloss` website if the cost isn`t too much more.

(There is a Car Quest about a block away from work, so I`m thinking of taking a field trip today at lunch)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Depending on where you are in FL, you can hit the local Carquests. I know the one in Tampa near me always has a lot of the stuff. I use quite a few DG products, as well as KAIO.

Hi newowner, to answer your questions in the order you listed...

    1) 105 is DG`s newest sealant technology and IMO, the most durable to date. This negates the need for 111. I have found 105 more durable than 111, and 105 looks a *ton* better than 111 also. 111 is a bit old school (formula hasn`t been updated in a long time) whereas 105 is the latest/greatest. To me, 111 tends to look very sterile, and 105 looks wetter, deeper, and glossier. You do not need to use both 111 and 105.

    2) You can use the DG prepolish if you wish. Not absolutely necessary, but it will improve the finish, if it is in need of some minor correction. So yes, you can certainly use any of the DG prepolishes and proceed directly to the 105.

    3) Yes, you can use K-AIO before 105, if you choose. You may prefer the cleaning benefits of KAIO over the DG prepolishes, and that`s fine. Use whichever you like, and then layer the LSP (105).

    4) In my area, a bottle of 105 goes for $9 and AW is around $6-7, but there is a sale going on now and you can get AW for $5 a bottle in many places.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,

Thanks guys for your fast responses!

(Hey Josh, I think Jake Plummer works at that Car Quest)

Thanks for the info Mike. That will be a bottle of 105 for me and sounds like $4.99 for AW is just what the Dr. ordered! I`ll use up my current bottle of AIO and then pick up one of Duragloss` pre-polishes.

Looks like I`m going to Car Quest in 3 hours :usa

Sure, sounds like fun! Would like to see and learn as much as possible. I`ve been on autopia for a couple of years, but still have a long way to go.

Can I use K-SG after K-AIO in place of 105 then top with AW? Thanks.

I concur. Yes, you can top nearly any sealant (including SG) with AW, if you desire.

This past weekend I washed and clayed one of my cars, went over it with the PC-compatible ScratchX, then DG 101, then 105 x 2 (a day apart), then hit it with AW. I can`t imagine it looking much better (dd, outside 24/7). I`ve not used 601 bonding agent, don`t know if it would give me a better look but I`m inclined to doubt it. Figure I`ll use AW every couple of weeks. Durability won`t be an issue.

Some other Duragloss products that are worth looking at are the #321 non-silicone dressing and the leather conditioner.

I`ve been using the non-silicone dressing on tires, and the durability has been very good. Stays around much longer than the Armor All tire shine that I normally use(especially in the rain).

The leather conditioner is the absolute best that I have found to date.

105/AW should be a very nice combo. Probably the best OTC line available.
