Anyone ever make their own ?? Like I was thinking with water and a friendly APC like simple green.

Thought it would help with summer bugs and such having a little more of cleaning power , but still paint friendly. Even if you off road or are in dusty conditions it would be nice to have something with a little more punch.

Or maybe a mixture of like water , a little APC and a little QS or a QD with a cleaner like PB S&W , FK 146 .....

    ANY THOUGHTS ?

I was actually thinking of just using some plain water. Usually what`s on the windshield is just plain old dust that can come off with a few squirts of water and a few wipes of the wiper. Even with bugs, if your windshield is protected properly, the bugs/bird droppings should come off fairly easily.

I`d be somewhat worried about using Simple Green because it`s very strong (for windshield wiper fluid) unless you dilute it like 1:50 or something. I think your idea of a little APC+some QD might be a fairly good idea. However, I would stick with a high percentage of water.

BTW, I usually don`t use the wiper fluid because I don`t like the water (chemical) spots.

I use P21S Windshield Wash Booster (name?) and it`s phenomenal. Doesn`t leave any spots on the paint when dry and works great on the glass when you need it. I think I paid about 8 bucks a bottle and I add the measured amount (about 1 ounce) to each tank refill. It`s so paint friendly I use my washer fluid quite often (just not if there`s a fellow Autopian behind me in traffic!).

+1 for the P21S stuff....I rarely use it at all, now that I have rain clear on the windshield, but that stuff is great.

If you live in Wisconsin, this better but a summer mix. It won`t do you much help frozen in the winter.

Other than that matter, I only ever use mine as a de-icer. RainX is awesome!

Autoglym do a summer and winter wash, both are great!!

Right now im using some of those 303 tablets, they are great at cleaning and its fun to watch them fizz about in the mixing bottle if you have nothing else to do!! LOL.
