I am looking for a new wash to replace my TOL Bubble Bath, which I am less than thrilled with. I hear a lot about ONR, but never about their other, "traditional" car wash. Anyone have any experience? I thought I read somewhere that the formula was updated and the new wash was very nice. Right now it is between this and FK #118 SC.

Yes the new forumula of Optimum Wash is a lot better than the old. It foams like crazy and leaves the paint very slick feeling.

I really like the new version of Optimum Car Wash too. I only use it on the cars I wash at a warehouse with the reverse osmosis/DI set-up, otherwise I stick with ONR. If I only did conventional washing though, I`d use the Optimum Car Wash. One ounce of product in a gallon of water actually means suds for the whole wash. Very slippery feel too.

Is it available by the gallon? I`ve only been able to get the 32 oz bottle. I don`t go through it very fast though, only use it on 3-4 cars a week.

Yeah, Danase sells it by the gallon. I might have to order some (smaller bottle) to try if you say it has good lubricity.

I have the older formula, and I while I wasn`t totally enamored with it, it does have decent lubricity and rinses quite well.

Optimum wash is all I have used for the last couple of years. The way it rinses co clean is amazing.

Very happy with, and I can`t wait to use the new version...

This was my experience as well with the older version--it didn`t blow me away but did a reasonable job nonetheless.

Have yet to try the new one.
If you`re irritated by every rub, how will you be polished?

Heh, pretty much everything. It suds up great at first, but the suds die down quick and when you go to shoot the hose in the bucket, it doesn`t really do anything, requiring you to add more solution. In fact, I typically refill the solution 4 times during a wash(including wheels)!. Doesn`t seem all that slick, and cleaning power isn`t impressive. I got a sample of the FK #118 SC and WOW, that stuff was excellent. Didn`t need to refill the bucket with solution at all, just a quick shot of the hose and the suds are filled to the top of the bucket. Pretty slick, rich suds that last, and excellent cleaning power. I then decided I really needed a better wash. Now I am giving Optimum a shot.

You can add me as one of the peeps who thinks the old version on Optimum Car Wash is just average. Nothing spectacular, but a "nice" wash none the less. I`m interested in trying some of the new formula, however. For now, I`ll stick with ONR.
