I would try zaino product on my dad`s truck (2005 black frontier), car never been treated. The paint is really bad, alot of swirl marks, water spots, spots. Any zaino expert out there? Which products should I buy and steps should I take? Any recommendation on other products for heavy sealant, please advice

I`d reccomend Clay for cleaning and ZPC for swirl removal by PC. Z5pro is great on darker colors and Z2pro on lighter colors. ZFX is also needed for the first coat of selant.

If you don`t polish out the scratches and swirls you`ll probably not want to apply Zaino...it magnifies imperfections.

That might have been true in the past but Z5pro will fill in minor imperfections

This doesn`t sound to me like a job for Z5pro....on lighter color cars, yes 3+ coates of Z5pro may hide some micro marring, however I`m willing to bet that most Autopians would be disapointed with Z5pros "filling" qualites on a lightly preped black finish with water spots and swirl marks.

Don`t get me wrong...I like the look and durabilaty of Z5pro, I use it myself and even prefer it`s look to Z2pro on dark colors....but as far as filling any minor imperfections.....I`m less than impressed.

I agree, even some of the best glazes won`t touch water spots much less Z5Pro. I would use a multi step polish like IP/FP rather than ZPC. You will probably need a little more cutting power than ZPC and FP I think finishes better than ZPC. On black I get the same results as Sal Zaino with ZPC leaving hazy surface.

To me it sounds like you need more than Zaino. You probably need to clay then use something like Menzerna Advanced Swirl Remover Kit http://www.properautocare.com/menpolandpad.html

Remember prep is the key here. You have to get the paint corrected before you apply any kind of final product. Use the above then evaluate your paint job. Something like AIO might be better than Zanio at this point. But if you get the paint in good shape go for the Zaino. Good luck.

Part 2... Then you might want to got to Menzerna Car Care Kit. FMJ is a good sealant.

    http://www.properautocare.com/mecarcakit.html IMHO ...... Zoom-Zoom

zpc will do a decent job on swirls, especially if you are working by hand. If you have products, why not try them and tell us what you didn`t like about them and then you might get some better advice.

    Quote from the zaino site:

I used Z-PC and now the paint looks hazy. Is this normal?

Dark color surfaces, especially black, will sometimes leave you with a slightly hazy or milky surface after using Z-PC. Z-PC Fusion does not have any fillers or oils. To make the surface crystal clear, apply your ZFX enabled Z2 or Z5 to make this milky look go away, leaving a perfect, crisp, clear, BLACK and scratch free finish.

Now you know...........the rest of the story.

I am not sure why you think you need to use all of these products?

Using ZPC and Z5pro will be fine without the JW products.

ZPC is fairly agressive and can remove 1500 sanding marks with the right pad and machine

you need to clay first to remove imbedded stuff that prime won`t. Z5pro is a very durable sealant with slight filling ability. You can use prime as a base but it really isn`t neccessary if you use ZPC as a swirl remover. Prime isn`t aggressive enough to really remove swirls.
