I used several vinyl protectant products for the dashboard on my old car and I noticed a haze had developed on the inside of the windshield. I`d clean the window and the haze would simply re-appear in about a week. Thinking it was my window cleaner, I`d simply wipe the window with a dry towel, but it would still re-appear. This was especially noticeable in the warm weather.

So I`m wondering, do certain dashboard/vinyl protectants evaporate in hot weather and cause a film on the windshield? If so, which ones definitely don`t do this so I can avoid repeating this with my new car?

    Thanks!

I believe it`s actually exposure to UV that can cause the plasticizers in the interior surfaces to create the haze, not necessarily the protectant you`re using.
