There used to be a thread that had NUMEROUS products all ranked against each other on how abrasive they were. About 20 mins. of searching is proving fruitless in finding it. Does anyone know where that thread might be? Have it bookmarked? I am trying to find an OTC polish that is similar in abrasiveness to SSR 2.5. I know a place near here that carries many 3M polishes, and I am wondering if those might fit the bill. Also, are any of the Duragloss polishes very aggressive? It sounds like they aren`t. Anwyay, any answers or direction to that thread would be greatly appreciated.

We should have a sticky somewhere of product rankings.

You mean Danowatt`s chart? Found it in one search: http://danosdetailing.com/products/

Supposedly Mother`s PowerPolish with a cutting pad is similar to SSR2.5 with a light cutting pad.

Seems a little weird... lists Perfect-It II Fine Cut in the same rank as DACP and SSR2.5... I know the 3M took out WAYYYY more swirls on my car than SSR2.5 did.

I`m not saying you won`t get good results. They should work great for you... but I have a feeling #80`s cut level will fall somewhere between OC and OP... if you are using both OC and OP... I doubt you`ll need to have the #80. You can see what others say.

From what I`ve read, OP`s cut varies A LOT depending on the pad.

I can testify to that! I love it with an orange or blue pad.
