A few years ago there were a bunch of people that used their blowers to dry their car. I`m just curious if people still do that. I tried this a few a weeks ago and it worked it pretty good.

Toro two speed here. The blow dry works best when there`s a good base of wax or sealant though, the water blasts off when the paint is slick.

Yes, cuts down on the amount of toweling I have to do...
Any drawbacks (dirty air, nozzle falling off, etc.)?
i dry with a large quality microfiber towel and use the leaf blower on the side mirrors, wheels/tires, trim, emblems, air vents, and anything where water tends to hide. i don`t use the leaf blower to completely dry the car because it tends to waterspot easily (you`re going to need a ww or mf to wipe the remaining water anyway). as far as having to use a 200+ mph blower (returned a 220mph one i had as it was much heavier/bigger) as some suggest, i find that unnecessary as a smaller/lighter 150 mph blower works just fine and is more than adequate...
Anyone use the blower port on a shopvac? I just got one and might attempt it this weekend on some of the harder to dry areas. The honeycomb grille on the GTI is a PITA to dry!

I use an AirWand to get most of the water off. After I finish drying (with WWMFs) I go over the vehicle with the air compressor`s blowgun to get all the rest of the water out of the nooks and crannies.
It works much better if the exhaust doesn`t vent into the blowers tube ... My new blower goes down like that ,Leaves a residue on the paint ...Too bad my old blowers motor locked up

I use an Airwand for all surfaces, nooks, and crannies, followed up by a MF WW to get the residual water droplets.
