Need a new backing plate for PC?

What backing plate do you prefer the flexible or Meguiars? I was going to get a 5" because most of my pads are 6.5" or less. However, I do have two 7.5" pads that I`m concerned will need a 6" backing plate. I`d rather not spend the extra money for the 6", but I will if it is going to lead to problems. Any thoughts?
