Hi All. I am going to do my first PC job on my wife`s Element in the next week. It`s painted in the light metallic green. I`ve done it a few times with OTC products (Mothers Polish and Meg`s Gold Class wax) and an old Craftsman polisher. I recently bought the PC and the whole Menzerna set (IP, FPII, Glaze, FMJ, and HGAS). I am going to clay it, use the IP with a CMA Orange pad where needed, then the FPII with a CMA white or black. My question is, from there, what would look best on light metallic green. Was going to do the Menzerna Glaze and FMJ but looks like this tropical storm will be hitting us this week, so I am going to wait. Because of this, I have time to order something different or pick it up if you think something will look better. I`ve done 3 cars with the Menzerna and, after spending some time on this site, would like to try something different. (Love the Menxerna BTW, just want to add something new to the deatil shelf)

I can`t find any decent pix of the truck (recent HDD crash) but I have a pic of my car with hers in the background below.

Thanks in advance, I`ll post some pix when done.

I`ve used Z-5 Pro with excellent results on a dark green Rover. I`d recommend either that or Z-2 Pro.

You don`t need to use FTG after FPII. If you already have FMJ, I`d say just stick with it. Doesn`t get much better.

If you want to stay OTC, you really can`t beat Meg`s Nxt for combination gloss/durability. Meg`s GC is a good choice for max gloss, but isn`t as durable.

I used Klasse AIO and SG on my wife`s new Forester-white- and am very pleased with the results. There is a look to that white paint that was not there from the dealer.......very nice. I have read where the Klasse is excellent on lite colors and metallics.

I`d recommend applying the FMJ and see what you think. My guess is the metallic will just fly off the finish after that great prep work and the sealant. From there you could always go with carnuba for more wetness, or even a second coat of FMJ.

I use a sealant (Four Star UPP) on my SUV and a few `customer` silver Mercedes. Every time I detail them I think I might try something new on top, but the finish just looks outstanding after two coats of UPP. Given the color of the Element, I`m guessing you may feel the same.

I second the recommendation of the Klasse products. I`m continually impressed with the versatility of AIO. I haven`t tried that many other sealants than the klasse SG though..mostly just waxes. From what I`ve read here - it sounds like you may have all the products you need, the Menzerna set gets a lot of thumbs up.

    Please don`t call the element a `truck` !

Surprised nobody`s mentioned the Werkstatt Twins :/ Was going to be ordering them today :hm

A vote goes out to S100 as a topper as it`s great for light cars; havn`t tried it but also Pinnacle Sig II may be nice for a topper since it too is great for lights. Under I`d do either FMJ, Jeffs AJ, or EX-P (not sure on the bonding).

Go with PB`s EX-P. Following day top it with Natty`s Blue.

Or PB`s Polish/Carnuba Blue, then followed with EX/carnuba. Next day a good coat of Natty`s Blue.

This is a proven combo, ask the vet`s on this site. I`m possitive you`ll get several differnt responces especially with eveyone on the Werks band wagon.
