looking for something that works well if you just simply spray it all over and let it be....something that wont hurt, burn, or discolor under the hood.....

I am not asking for the best, just some options I have....because the best is what I think is best for my applications, not yours....hahaha, there is no best, only what looks good to me!!!!

On the rubber hoses and plastic engine cover 303 Aerospace protectant is perfect. I just wipe it on with a foam applicator. It looks awesome for weeks.

CD2 engine detailer works well. Just spray and go. After it dries(?), i go over with an old MF to even out the dressing

CD/2 Engine Detailer is that product. It is acrylic based and dries hard with no oily residue. This means it doesn`t attract dirt and dust like an oily dressing. CD/2 also makes a great dressing for wheel wells.

I bought a case (6 cans) from K-Mart a while back for $22. It`s available here or here.

CD2 works well for me. Clean with Megs Super Degreaser first, then spray on CD2, looks great.

Hmm, don`t remember paying that much per can, if you have an AutoZone nearby, try there -- it`s where I get mine.

wow that`s pricey-a few months ago I ran across a case of 12 for $2.50-$3 a can (been awhile, can`t remember). I should head back to that place and see if he has anymore.

Anyone interested if he has quanity?

I can`t find CD2 here anymore. I heard it was being discontinued. I`ve got one can left and I only use it when I have a big show

If you want things to look "as new" with no residue or sticky mess left behind, use Simple Green (straight or diluted) or the Simple Green Automotive formula (cuts grease a lot faster) diluted 4:1

Doesn`t leave anything shiny or dried out. Makes plastics look like new/day one off the assembly line. Also degreases pretty well for a wipe on/spray off product. Doesn`t burn/corrode/biodegrade/attack anything I`ve tried it on.

Simple Green will discolor aluminum if left in contact for any length of time and not rinsed completely.

At that price, ~$2.50/can, I`m interested... My local Autozone recently discontinued stocking it, and I just emptied my last can.
