I just got this in today, and noticed that there are some specs in it that are dark colored, and some flakes that are pretty close to white. Has anyone had this happen before, and will it effect the performance of the product?

Shake, shake, shake........

Light travels faster then sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Yep, shake it a LOT. Mine had a few bits in it, but I shook it quite well and they now seem dispersed.
Also, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, smell this product.
Goodness, it smells TERRIBLE. It does work great though.
I need to call Everett. Mine looked like that and has since "attacked" the bottle and now the bottle is cracked.

I emailed them also, and this is what I got back
The flakes you are refering to are some small particles of solids that failed to disolve when blended. They should not effect the products ability to produce what it was designed to do.
Those are not abrasivies. They are however some of the polishing powers. They should brake down when any pressure is applied to them.
Hope this helps.
Good luck;
