I have my 20% Home Depot coupon to use at Lowes so I`m trying to get as much as I can when I go in the next couple of days. I`m getting a PC, and I`d like to get a shop vac. (I`d also like to spend as little money as possible).

Is this vaccum sufficient for most of my detailing needs?

Would it be much better to get this one?

I don`t know if the little extras are really all that necessary, but will the 1HP make a noticable difference?

i bought a 2hp 5 gallon(i think) shopvac from walmart and it works great for cleaning up inside the car.

i went to lowes this weekend to pick up a PC and had no problem using the coupon. another member was reportedly rejected by a manager tho. and when you buy multiple items with the coupon, the cashier have to manually price-adjust every item. i held up the line for a good 15 minutes cus i was buying a bunch of other stuff like hose fittings. the items all had a "sold as-is" under them on my receipt tho.

This is the same one I have, and it ROCKS! I love it.

Make sure to get the accessory pack too, it has the brush attachment that has quickly become my favorite...

I have the WD4050 and it`s a great vac. The only negative is that my local HD stores don`t stock the replacement filter so I have to get it direct from Ridgid. Otherwise, it`s more than adequate. Make sure to get the wall-mountable version. It comes with the longer hose and some additional accesories.

I don`t think Home Depot has the wall-mountable version. Is it the same price or similar in price?
