Was wondering if the majority of people will cut the tags off or leave them on? Has anyone incountered scratches if the tags are left on?

I always cut them off, just as a precautionary measure. I know how to care for MFs, so I don`t need the tags.

ALWAYS remove any tags on towels. Tags are invariably made of polyester to allow for heat transfer printing of the label. They WILL scratch. Beware of towels that claim the tag is silk and safe to use, don`t believe it for a minute.

I don`t really cut them out because that leaves a little bit exposed that can scratch. I tear them carefully along the stitching line.

If I cut, I cut from thread hole to thread hole. If it has a silk edge the remnants will disappear into the edging. If it has a stitched edge I`ll extract the remnants with a probe and a pair of fine needle nose pliers.

    Can you say A/R?

i pull the tag slightly outwards and cut in, so the remainder of the tag (if any) is exposed under the edge of the towel. haven`t had a problem...

I`m a tearer! hell, that`s the first thing I do when I pull the new towel out of the package it came in. Then I inspect to make sure nothing is amiss.

I don`t see why you all would go to the trouble of cutting the tags off when it is so easy to just tear them off. At least in my experience.

Some tags tear nicely, some take half the towel with them so it then forever frays where the tag was. Sonus ones tear off nicely, Aquatouch ones don`t!
