I used this new type of mf towel yesterday and really like it.

What`s different - it has a stiff foam core that keeps the towel more or less square even when slightly wet. I belive Viking makes the Mothers version as well.

    Here are some thoughts:

    1. Performance - Works well but gets better as it is slightly damp. What`s nice is that a big drying towel won`t go to the driveway or floor while drying down low due to the stiffness of the towel which makes it easier to control.

    2. Color/Packaging - Washes and cleans up well. Has a cleaning instruction tag which is silk like but probably should be removed. Nice grey color.

    3. Quality - Waffle weave of 30/70 construction from Korea. Approx. 23 inches by 19 inches square, edging in place.

    Highly recommended.

Nice! Where did you get it? It looks alot like the WW material that Fiberworks uses. Which would be a good thing I might add. How well do you think it would hold up in the wash?

Almost comparable to PakShak, not quite as soft ww. Seems to absorb water very well, I think the foam core helps in that respect as it hinders or slows water from flowing into the other side of the towel. Heft of the towel really helps with control.

Viking products can be found at AutoZone stores.

the problem i see with it is that the center foam will after time deteriorate, especially when washing , twisting to dry. Also because the foam is holding water doesnt that mean that streaking will occur becasue the foam will release water once it is satuarated.

I have not experienced any streaking in two uses. I think the foam core is built in fairly tight...I doubt it will deteriorate but we will see in time how it performs. It certainly solves the problem of a large drying towel tending to hit the floor and collect dirt. I think it`s innovative in that respect.

This is the first foam core towel I have tried so I don`t know how it compares to the Cobra and SMP versions.

Well, I guess it`s different than the Cobra, which is 80/20, and about 16x23.
