I`d rather get a shop vac because you can properly clean carpets with that vs this which I`m assuming can`t vacuum liquids. Most shop vacs can also convert to a blower which helps dry the car quickly and get water out of the cracks and such.

Rigid 5hp from Home Depot. I have had nothing but success with it for the past ~6 months.

Well i have a wet dry vac from sears it has been thru the mill. Used it in my wood shop as well as for the vehicles. Still working after years of service.

Have a Vavnblo in my garage used very sparingly. Electrical problems and is in the box to go back to the factory to get fixed. It did work very well when it worked. but am procrastinating on shipping it back because i wonder if I want to have it back working or not. Do not have much good to say about something that expensive that did not last with infrequent use.

I will send it back. Mostly because i paid so much for it that i cannot afford not to. Save your money get the wet dry vac.

I second what Sean said. Get the Rigid. I have had mine for 5 years of heavy use. Nothing but good news. I would suggest getting Steam Clean filter to replace he paper one it comes with.

Tough to beat the rigid`s...~$100 for a 6.5hp vac with a nice warranty.

I have the craftsman equivalent of the ridgid 6.5 hp vac. 6.5 horsepower, 16 gallon capacity, and a detachable 265 mph blower (great for getting water out of cracks after washing). I wouldn`t recommend it to anyone that has to carry a vacuum with them in a car though. I can barely fit mine into the tC with the seats down. I doubt a sedan could carry it. But if the vacuum is going to stay at home, or you have a truck/trailer to carry it in, it`s an awesome piece of equipment.
