A friend has aluminum covers on his motorcycle and is curious as to what product is recommended for polishing and protecting the aluminum.
Please advise.

love the mother`s polish
I don`t want my LSP to last... detailing is my therapy.
Having tried to polish out a set of previously painted wheels on my own, the answer is `it depends`. It depends on how rough the aluminum is. The Flitz or Mothers are good if the metal is fairly smooth and in good condition. If it`s rough and needs more TLC, I found 3M`s Aluminum Restorer to be good. If it`s really rough, hit it with some sandpaper first. Just as a guide, to get my wheels from rough to chrome look, I started with 80g paper, then 120, 240, 800 and finally 1200. Then I went to the polishes. First the 3M, then Nevr-dull, then the Mothers Billet and finally Flitz. (It took me a year to do 2 wheels). FYI-NEVER try to polish out wheels that have been painted on your own. :furious:

Thanks to all for responding. I passed the recommendations to my friend.
