My step son was a victim of a hit and run in Dallas. He is needing body work done to take out the major dent on his fender. Can anyone recommend a good body shop in Dallas. Thanks guys...Andrew

Look into PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) first. It`s typically less expensive and less invasive.

If you have to go the route of filling a dent or replacing a panel, check your local Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce for reports on local shops.

Look for shops that use high quality paints such as PPG or Dupont.

One last bit of advice, if money is an issue (and it always is for me), procure any replacement parts yourself. Typically a shop will *order* a part from their supplier and charge you for it. But you can also get a perfectly fine part in a auto salvage lot and sand it yourself. Bringing the part to the shop sanded and primed will often save you tons of $$$

Mister Collision and only Mister Collision. The owner is an artist. (972) 484-4762. He is also a State Farm Premier shop. Specializes in high end vehicles, but he will fix anything.

Stay away from Caliber and Service King. I have had bad experience with Caliber, and I am in the process of fixing the buffer haze that Service King put on the hood of my friend`s car. They weren`t even working on the hood. :doh

Don`s Collision in Carrollton is good, they took a little longer than I liked, but the results were worth the wait. I had the driver`s side fender and front door replaced on my 1990 Accord, and the passenger side repainted due to a horrible key scratch, and the paint matched perfectly, the metallic flakes were the same, and the paint was smooth as glass. Better than factory. It is a small owner-operated business off of Kelly and Old Denton, in an industruial complex.
