A friend of mine repaired a 2000 Dodge Dakota for a friend of his to take to Fort Makemoney. It was parked under a Douglas Fir Tree for three years so it was covered in sap, black soot and of course, BC`s provincial flower, moss.

The wash job took four hours. (Including the engine bay) Removal of the sap was done with pure mineral spirits, this went really well. The soot came off with Poorboy`s SSR2.5. I finised it off with KLasse AIO and SG.

I removed the seats to clean the interior, apparently a family of dogs lived inside the cab for a few years. To remove the odor from the interior I used a GM Odor Eliminator. This is great stuff. A friend of mine left a styrofoam cooler with a salmon on his seat one day and it leaked. He tried everything to get rid of the smell. When we used this odor eliminator, no more smell.

I would post some pictures if I can figure out how. The truck turned out pretty good and it only took me two days.

Douglas Fir, moss, salmon, dogs in cab.

Yup, sounds like British Columbia for sure. The only thing missing from the equation was the dent of the bear`s arse when he climbed up into the bed and sat on the cab roof.

I wait with bated breath for the pics and good work in doing all that in only two days.

    I stand corrected.

That was more than a good job, that was a great job. The transformation of the engine alone is just amazing.

My garage queen is wintered in the carport and a couple of years ago I opened the hood in spring to discover sunflower seeds, acorns, and twigs all over the place. While the car was wintered, the engine compartment was the permanent residence of a family of squirrels, a family of chipmunks, and a family of beaver.

How they all fit in there was just beyond me.

    Again, great work,

    -John C.

Thanks John. I know all the gophers are in hibernation in Sask, except of course for Gainer.

You BCers are funny. If you park your car in the winter in the Yukon, you sure don`t have to worry about chipmunks or other small rodents !

I used Poorboy`s Natural Look. i think this is the best dressing made. I have always hated when a tire is done and it becomes shiny. I love the Poorboys natural look because it just makes the "rubber" look new.

I mixed Poorby`s Natural Look with water to do the engine bay and wheel wells. It is a great product available from Cris at Eshine.
